Who we are

What we collect

Account: your email address, and if you choose Google sign-in, a Google account identifier. We never ask for a password.

Things you send us: the details you type into a form, such as a delivery address and phone number you save, find and service requests, consignment submissions and photos, offers, reviews, event registrations, saved items and alert preferences.

Marketplace: when you publish a listing, its photos, your public seller name and the listing details become public. Your email stays private.

Orders placed through Instagram or WhatsApp happen on those services; we receive what you send us there. When you ask about or buy an item by Instagram, WhatsApp, the website or in the shop, our staff record the item, the price, the channel and, if you give it, your name or handle, to manage the sale.

We only ask for what we need. Fields marked optional can be left blank.

Why we use it

To run your account, answer your requests, arrange orders, delivery and consignments, publish what you ask us to publish, send the emails you opt into, keep the site secure and meet legal obligations. We process your data with your consent, which you give when you sign in or send a form, and because we need it to provide what you asked for.

We do not sell your data, use it for advertising or build marketing profiles.

Who processes it

Cloudflare hosts the site, its database and uploaded photos. Resend sends sign-in emails and the updates you opt into. Google processes sign-in only if you choose to continue with Google. Delivery companies and banks receive what they need to deliver or pay for your order. We share data with authorities only when the law requires it.

These providers may process data outside the Dominican Republic, including in the United States. By signing in you consent to that transfer, which is also needed to provide the service.

How long we keep it

Sign-in links expire after 15 minutes and sessions after 7 days. Account data is kept while your account is open. Records of sales and payments are kept for as long as Dominican tax and commercial law requires. Other data is deleted when you ask us to delete it, unless we need it to resolve a dispute.

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct or delete your personal data, object to its use, or withdraw your consent, free of charge. Write to us by email or Instagram. We answer within 10 business days. You can remove saved items, alerts and addresses yourself in your account. You also have the right to file a habeas data action under the Dominican Constitution and Ley 172-13.

Cookies and browser storage

We use only what the site needs to work. We do not use advertising, analytics or tracking cookies.

__Host-hh-session: keeps you signed in. Set when you sign in; lasts up to 7 days or until you sign out.

__Host-hh-login and __Host-hh-google: link a sign-in to the browser that asked for it. Last up to 15 minutes.

hh-bag (browser storage): remembers your bag on this device until you empty it.

hh-find-draft (browser storage for this tab): keeps a Request a Find draft while you sign in. Cleared when you send it or close the tab.

hh-notice and hh-consent (browser storage): remember that you saw the cookie notice and that you accepted these terms when signing in.

Links in our ads (hobbyhousedr.com/r/…) count visits to the site. They set no cookie and store no personal data.

Google sign-in loads only when you choose it. Google may then set its own cookies under its privacy policy. Links to Instagram, WhatsApp and manufacturers open those services under their own policies.

Security

Sign-in uses single-use links bound to your browser and secure, HTTP-only cookies. Private submissions and photos are only available to you and to authorized store administration.

Children

Accounts are for people aged 18 or over. Younger collectors can shop with a parent or guardian, who places the order.
